Hi and welcome to the Little Flamingo website.

Paper and parties have been a love of mine ever since I can remember. As a child, sitting on the floor in the lounge room surrounded by different coloured papers, ribbons, fabrics and threads creating cards while my mum sewed her latest masterpiece.

The centre of attention at family events, I carried the canapé plate with pride as I presented its contents to the guests with childish excitement and a long-winded explanation of how mum and I decorated the Christmas tree.

Starting my own stationery boutique was always my ultimate dream, being surrounded by beautiful stationery and creating stunning events. So with the support of my husband, friends and family, Little Flamingo took flight.

Why Little Flamingo? I get this question every week. Little Flamingo is actually a nickname from my stand in sister Nicole (stand in as I am an only child).

We were preparing for her wedding in Florida and she was looking for the colour of my bridesmaid dress, describing it as a Flamingo colour. Once we located the perfect colour I carried a small swatch of it with me to help with the wedding styling. Every time she became stressed, I pulled out the swatch, held it up and stood on one leg Flamingo style. This always made her laugh and helped break her mood. From then she started to call me her Little Flamingo.
